Fern Villa Bed & Breakfast, a Victorian house full of character is set in three quarters of an acre of mature terraced gardens in the coastal village of Goodwick, Fishguard, Wales. We offer comfortable 4 star en-suite bed and breakfast accommodation, with beautiful views over Fishguard Bay, Dinas Head and the North Pembrokeshire coastline and countryside. Fern Villa Guest House has spacious double en-suite rooms all with stunning sea views, and a twin and single room, which look over our pretty gardens.
Head west along the M4 until the end of the motorway. Take the A48 towards Carmarthen. At Carmarthen take the A40 signposted Haverfordwest/ Fishguard. As you approach Fishguard keep on the A40 signposted Goodwick (also signposted for the ferry) this will take you to the seafront. Go past the petrol station and Tesco on your left. At the ferry roundabout go straight across, signposted Village Centre/Strumble Head. You are now 2 minutes away! Go past the train station and after the Hope & Anchor / Rose & Crown pubs turn left, then almost immediately turn left into Main Street, you will pass the local shops.
All our rooms are centrally heated and carpeted. Equipped with freeview TVs, hairdriers, extra blankets, clock radio alarms and a complimentary hospitality tray which includes tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Fresh milk and herbal teas are available on request. Towels and toiletries are provided. An iron and ironing board are available for guests use. Free WiFi and parking available. For the safety of our guests we have installed a L2 fire alarm system and Fern Villa operates a strict non smoking policy.
Breakfast is complimentary to all guests and is taken in the sunny front room overlooking Fishguard Bay with its stunning views. Breakfast is served between 8am-9am and will set you up for the day. If you need an earlier breakfast, no problem - just let us know in advance. The breakfast room walls are adorned with photos of the local area taken by myself, Sue. All items are locally sourced where possible. If you have any special dietary requirements, please contact us prior to arrival and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs.
Pembrokeshire Coast Path is a 5 minute walk from our B & B and runs for 186 miles between Amroth in the south and St. Dogmaels in the north. The path twists and turns it's way along some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in Britain. You will encounter rugged cliff tops, sheltered coves, wide open beaches and winding river estuaries. Britain's only coastal national park, the trail displays an array of coastal flowers, bird life and sea mammals such as seals, dolphins and porpoises. If you stray a short distance from the path in places, you will also find old historical burial sites and standing stones dating back to Neolithic times.
Boat Trips: The beauty of Pembrokeshire is never more apparent than when you take a boat trip and see the amazing coast line from the sea. There are several boat trips available in Pembrokeshire that provide an amazing experience. The Home of the Puffins. There are daily boats that visit Skomer Island and you can either land on the Island or just take a boat around the Island depending on how much time you have spare. There are boat trips around Ramsey Island that provide wonderful views of the island and the seal life around the shores.
We are on the local bus routes. 5 minutes walk from Fishguard & Goodwick railway station and ferry port. Private parking area and ample road parking (on a hill). Access to front door and reception via 10 steps (from the road), 4 steps via the parking area. Breakfast room/lounge situated on the ground floor. All guest bedrooms are on the first floor, stairs are carpeted and are normal risers totalling 17. There is a banister rail. En-suites are up 1 step. Corridors are well lit, and the room numbers are raised.
Family Room (sleeps 3, double room with an extra single bed added, travel cot available) from 85. Reservations can be made by telephone or email, and all bookings require a deposit of the first night by cheque or bank transfer. We regret we are not at present able to accept credit/debit cards. For anyone wishing to book from overseas, although we don't take credit cards we are happy to reserve rooms for you, please contact us for details. Walkers - we offer packed lunches and for your convenience we are able to transfer your luggage onto your next accommodation, please ask us for prices.
