George Hotel - Okehampton

This fascinating building has had a much chequered career. 100 years before the reformation, The George was a rest house and sanctuary for monks of Tavistock, in later years it served as a brewery, tavern, law court and coaching inn. The cobbled path, which leads through the courtyard of the hotel, takes you from the old farmers market to the market place of Hatherleigh.
