Customer Testimonials

This hotel is superb. the food is outstanding the grounds are beautiful and the staff are all friendly

Beautiful Hotel in a Beautiful setting. We stayed in Amelie which was perfect, comfy beds, large bathroom with Elemis products. The only big let down was the evening meal. The food really isn’t anything special for the price, triple cooked chips were rock hard and had to be removed from my bill. Onglet was nice but nothing special for £20 odd. The choice is very limited. The children’s menu however I thought was great. Dessert, again limited. Went for the chocolate olive oil cake which was just ok, the cake was dry and didn’t seem fresh. Not worth £9. Otherwise a lovely stay, breakfast was great, staff super friendly. Wouldn’t stay again due to the evening meal being so bad.

I was given a GV for my birthday for a traditional afternoon tea for 2 in December last year. On 28th May Bank Holiday Monday, my husband and I visited Ickworth house and garden before heading to The Ickworth Hotel for our treat. We were seated at a nice table, offered chilled water and asked what hot drink we would like. The tea and coffee were brought followed by our afternoon tea. Normal for my husband and gluten free for me. The food was lovely! My husband ate all his sandwiches, scones and cakes but by the time I got to my cakes, I was stuffed! I did eat 2 of the cakes. We were offered refills for the pots of tea and coffee. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We were well looked after. I would definitely go again! Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

NB. Only downside was that on hot days, air conditioners or fans would be welcome. It was very hot in the conservatory.

While the kids play in the crche, swim in the indoor pool or sip champagne in the historic walled gardens. Family time or me time - you've got all the time in the world. Just two hours from London, The Ickworth is enveloped in rolling Suffolk countryside. Freely roam the idyllic grounds or enjoy our extensive facilities, from a tennis court and children's play areas to our on-site restaurants serving locally sourced, seasonal dishes.

Team-building days have a whole host of benefits: deepening working relationships, boosting morale and improving productivity. With our in-house events team and professional partners, we can tailor a team day to your needs.

Whether it's a tour of the house, a bike ride or a brisk walk, there's over 1,800 acres of National Trust parkland for you to explore. Once a fine country home, now a luxury family hotel specialising in child friendly holidays, the Ickworth is a masterpiece of Italian-inspired architecture. Home to the Hervey family from 1829 until 1996, Ickworth House was influenced by the Italian travels of Frederick Augustus Hervey. The most striking thing you'll notice as you arrive is the Rotunda. At over 100 feet high, this impressive building was the brainchild of Fredrick Augustus, 4th Earl of Bristol and the Bishop of Derry (also known as the Earl-Bishop), created to house his family and provide galleries for his art collection.

Enjoy our unique independent accommodation with all the facilities of our luxury hotel at your fingertips. The Lodge at Ickworth offers eight apartments and three double rooms set amongst four acres of gardens. At The Lodge you can come and go as you please, play and dine in the main hotel, or squirrel yourselves away in your private apartment or room. A converted farmhouse set on the estate just half a mile from the main hotel, The Lodge was home to the Earl of Bristol and his family while the magnificent Ickworth House was created.

From family suites and interconnecting bedrooms to private apartments in The Lodge, you can choose the perfect accommodation to suit your needs. We also offer a number of interconnecting rooms, which can be booked together for flexible family accommodation. To find out more, call Central Reservations on 0208 0765 555. Enjoy all the facilities of The Ickworth from your very own residence on the estate. Just a short walk from the hotel, the Butler's Quarters include a private walled garden, a living area and a small kitchenette.
