Middlethorpe Hall, York, is a William III country house, close to the city, set in 20 acres of its own gardens and parkland. Built in 1699, it was once the home of the famous diarist, Lady Mary Wortley Montagu. After a period of neglect, Middlethorpe Hall was purchased and restored by Historic House Hotels who also own Hartwell House, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and Bodysgallen Hall, North Wales.
