Sparth House, with all the majestic splendour of Georgian architecture and set in its own grounds, is a Grade ll listed building built in 1740. The interior, though, with wood panelled walls festooned with oil paintings and antique figurines delicately poised throughout the hotel, reflects the elegance and enchantment of the Victorian era. Sparth House is perfectly situated on the edge of the Ribble Valley within easy reach of the Lake District and the Trough of Bowland. Nearby are many historic features and attractions including Whalley Abbey, Haworth Art Gallery and Clitheroe Castle.

From Our Website
We are an exclusive use wedding venue, boasting 16 individually styled bedrooms on 3 acres of beautiful grounds. We pride ourselves in creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that ensures all our guests feel like they are coming home. In addition to weddings, we offer accommodation and a luxury restaurant for your family celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries and corporate events. If you're looking for a unique and personal wedding venue in Lancashire we'd love to hear from you.
We love to design unique and creative weddings that are perfectly tailored to the happy couple. Our wedding team can help from the initial ideas through to execution. Just give us an inkling of an idea and see what we can do with it! Over 95% of UK wedding couples said they found planning for their wedding stressful, we think that's absolutely ridiculous! We have built an infrastructure to ensure that every couple feels supported throughout their planning journey. The redesign of our wedding offering has been my greatest achievement over the past 6 years.
The first mention of Sparth House as a dwelling dates back to 1455, with the main house being built in 1740. Nearly 600 years of history and family surrounds the building that we now know as Sparth House. Many families have been in ownership of Sparth House through the years. One of the most interesting must be the Cunliffe Family, notably Robert Cunliffe and his daughter Jennet Cunliffe. Robert Cunliffe was the first Member of Parliament for East Lancashire. By 1653, Cunliffe was also made a member of Oliver Cromwell's Council of Notables or House of Commons.
We strive to source the finest ingredients from regional suppliers. From our local farm butcher, award winning British cheese, to ensuring almost all of our vegetables are grown in Lancashire, we love to support local producers and offer seasonal food. Just want a drink? Not a problem, our lounge is the perfect place to cosy by the fire in the winter with a large glass of red. Or sit outside on our terrace or garden in the summer months with a chilled G&T! On Sundays, our restaurant is full families and friends enjoying our ever-changing Sunday Lunch Menu.
As a wedding venue with accommodation you can relax knowing that your family and friends will be taken care of. Sparth House can be hired as an exclusive use venue, meaning that the house is entirely yours for the duration of your celebration, allowing you to fully maximise the time spent with loved ones at your wedding. We also host many couples looking to celebrate an occasion such as an anniversary, or just wanting to get away from it all for a weekend. The properly is newly renovated and we are very proud of the quality, style individualism that each of our bedrooms exude.
