The Stage Post - Devizes

The Stage Post began its life as a Coaching Inn in the 17th century, which makes the Pub Hotel's name particularly apt. The original lounge and snug dates back to 1450 and has maintained its traditional character with some of the original timbers left exposed - in fact it is reputed that secret passages link the pub to Dauncey's House (whose grounds are close by). The locals will also amuse you with tales of resident ghosts who appear to move anything from cutlery during service to furniture and even pints of beer!
