The Trout Inn - Winchester

The Trout Inn, Itchen Abbas, formerly known as The Plough is situated in the picturesque valley of the itchen. What used to be a coaching inn that had its own brewery, it is said that the Trout was frequented by the writer Charles Kingsley and is said to be where he had his inspiration to write the Water Babies. The Trout is a large inn, with a fine dining, non-smoking restaurant.Your food will be prepared by our award-winning chefs. The style of food served is regarded as 'classic with a twist.' All food is prepared on site using only the best quality local products.
