Hunters Moon Hunters Moon Hotel, is a family run, early Georgian residence surrounded by two acres of magnificent gardens, wooded lawns and mature trees. It is pleasantly situated approximately ten minutes walk from Sidmouth's elegant regency shops and sea front. Guests have direct access via a private gate to 'The Byes' - a beautiful National Trust walk which follows the River Sid. The hotel grounds offer seclusion in which to relax, enjoy a stroll or a round on the putting green with refreshments available throughout the day.

Hunters Moon Hotel was originally called Salcombe House and was built in approximately 1791, by a Mrs Brutton. In 1810 Reverend William Jenkins (who was Lord of the Manor) lived here whilst his house in Vicarage road was used as a lodging house. Later, the lease was passed to Sir William Cockburn and then in 1841 to Sir Charles John Cornish.

Due to the age of the building all our classic double rooms are of varying shapes, sizes and floors (Hunters Moon does not have a lift), all enjoy an ensuite with bath and shower over the bath with complimentary toiletries.
Balcony Twin

These rooms are on the ground floor and enjoy their own balcony overlooking the gardens, all have an ensuite with bath and shower over the bath and complimentary toiletries. These rooms have a south westerly facing balcony with a table and chairs that overlook our extensive gardens.
Easy Access

These rooms are generally used by the less mobile and are on the ground floor, once inside there are no steps to negotiate from the bedroom to the public rooms, each room has a garden balcony and wet room. Extra grab rails, fold down shower seat and complimentary toiletries all help to take the stresses out of your stay.
