Loved the hotel. Loved the gardens. Loved the food. Our room was on the ground floor with a balcony. The room was very spacious and had a large bathroom/ wet room. Plenty of parking spaces, all of which are being equipped with EV charging points, that's a work in progress but I would say 3/4 completed. Very large gardens with loads of outside seating, some on patio, some on grass. There's a path that leads out onto the Byes which is a very pretty park that runs alongside the river Sid. Food is great. Massive breakfast. Dinner is a set price for 3 courses with a choice of 4 dishes per course. We really enjoyed or 4 nights and hopefully we'll be back.

Easy check in, with friendly staff. The room was located top of the building with two flights of stairs to climb but had lovely views of the surrounding area, the Byes in particular. The room was spacious and comfortable, but this being an old building the floor in the bathroom was uneven. The shower glass screen wouldn't stay in situe and would swing towards you while showering. This seemed to feel dangerous with this being a glass plate that could be easily broken.
There was also a unpleasant odour emanating from the plumbing. But cleared with the windows open. The breakfast was excellent with a request for the bacon to be cooked a little more which wasn't to much trouble. Also the evening meal was very nice.
