Our 18 individually appointed rooms blend contemporary and traditional decor, offering comfortable stays in the New Forest. Options include dog-friendly rooms, luxury suites with private gardens, and budget doubles. All accommodations feature en-suite bathrooms with modern amenities, while select rooms offer unique features like four-poster beds and freestanding baths. Guests enjoy direct forest access and beautifully maintained grounds.

Fine Dining

The Cattlegrid Restaurant serves locally sourced British cuisine daily, with seasonal menus highlighting regional produce. Guests can dine al fresco on our garden terrace or enjoy meals in our dog-friendly bar area. Special dietary requirements are accommodated, and we offer afternoon tea service with both traditional and themed options. The restaurant holds an 'Excellent' breakfast award from Visit England.

Wedding Venues

Licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships, we offer three unique function rooms accommodating 55-75 guests. Exclusive hire options include full hotel takeovers for weekend celebrations. Our packages cover ceremony coordination, bespoke menus, and accommodation for wedding parties. The venue features direct forest access for photography and special touches like complimentary dog welcome packs for pet-inclusive weddings.

Dog-Friendly Stays

We provide 11 dog-friendly rooms with garden access, including three with private outdoor spaces. Each pet receives a welcome pack with treats, blankets, and towels. Dogs are permitted in bar/lounge areas and can dine with owners during all meal times. An external tap facilitates cleaning muddy paws before entering the hotel, and forest trails start directly from our grounds.

Functions

Our three private dining rooms host events from baby showers to business meetings, with capacity for up to 80 guests through exclusive hire. Tailor-made menus accommodate dietary needs while function packages include room hire, meals, and accommodation options. The venue combines historic charm with modern facilities including IT infrastructure for business events and flexible space configurations for social occasions.

Questions

Are dogs allowed in all hotel areas?

Dogs are welcome in bar and lounge areas, and can dine with owners during all meal times. They're permitted in 11 designated guest rooms but not in standard doubles.

Can we have a forest view room?

Deluxe double rooms offer forest and garden views with comfortable seating areas. Some feature working gas fireplaces and separate bath/shower combinations.

Do you offer wedding photography access?

Our location provides direct access to New Forest National Park for photography. The venue itself features beautiful gardens and historic architecture for indoor/outdoor shoots.

Is parking available?

Complimentary parking is available for all guests with easy access to the hotel entrance.

Can we access hotel gardens?

All guests have access to our 3 acres of private gardens. The deluxe suite includes a private garden with direct hotel access.

Do you have meeting facilities?

Three dedicated meeting rooms accommodate business events with IT infrastructure. Packages include room hire, refreshments, and dining options for conferences up to 50 attendees.

I attended a baby shower at Woodlands Lodge over the weekend and have to say the service and food were amazing. It's a beautiful venue that's tucked away in Woodlands. I spotted some garden games outside, it was perfect weather for a game of giant chess too! Beautiful venue, brilliant staff always making sure we were okay but without you really knowing they were there. I'll definitely come back! Glad I know it's there now.

This is a great boutique hotel, lovely setting, excellent service from simply everyone, very friendly and helpful, great food choices for every meal, and for those that need it dog friendly. There is good meal separation for those that dont want to dine with dogs. Finally whats more great value. Well done!

We had our wedding weekend at Woodlands Lodge Hotel and it was absolutely perfect. The team were always on hand to cater to our every need and everything went exactly to plan. I can't thank everyone enough nor could I have asked for anything more! The food was amazing and the gardens made for the best wedding photos. Thank you Imogene and team - we will definitely be back.

We had our wedding here 6months ago and had such a wonderful day. From our first visit three years ago, the staff have been warm, friendly and efficient. We were again greeted for dinner tonight with smiles and attentive service. Over the three years we have had cream teas, dinners and of course our wedding breakfast. My dietary needs are extremely well catered for, making a relaxing meal every time. Thank you to all the staff, including the chef, for giving us a special place to visit and see you again soon!

A good location next to the new forest woodland. Walkable to Ashurst and Lyndhurst. We stayed in a dog friendly room which was a really good size. Maybe the decor was a bit tired but we didn't mind. Room looked clean. Shower pressure was a bit weak. A nice large garden which led straight on to woodland. Staff were very polite and helpful throughout the visit. The food was excellent (dinner and breakfast). Accommodating vegan options. We stayed on a travel zoo offer.
