Good location for castle and cathedral. Rooms are good, plenty of storage space, didn't find bed that comfortable but ok, shower really good. Breakfast good and staff excellent. Good value really.

Amazing location! Central to the old part of the city. Clean, bright and spacious hotel. Helpful/kind staff and the breakfast is 5*.

Super hotel. Next time, though, I would avoid the mediocre breakfast. Mushrooms are baked until they are like leather. Vegetarian sausages are over-baked, but not turned while cooking, so one side can be eaten. Spinach is over-cooked and unpleasantly bitter. I understand that the meat sausages are good and I know the eggs are very good indeed, especially the poached ones. But there are so many cafes within a few minutes walk, it just isn't worth the hassle of trying to avoid the overcooked stuff.

The Superior King Room was well worth the extra as we had windows on three sides, through-flow ventilation, and even a window in the ensuite bathroom. It was so nice to have daylight in there. Nearly every hotel these days puts ensuites on interior walls with blindingly bright lights and automatic noisy fans, so if you get up in the night. Well let's say the hoteliers have never thought about it.

But this was a really good feature. The staff were very nice and helpful, and everything was up to the expectations we'd got from their website, apart from the vegetarian breakfasts. I would gladly return next time we're passing through Lincoln.

Always a great place - been here many times. Just disappointed that they now don't serve a wider range of meals over the weekends.
