Good location, friendly staff, nice breakfast with lots of options cooked fresh to order, comfy bed. Bathroom could've done with a freshen up. Lovely freshly baked cookies in the room!

It's all about the food here. The breakfast we had was very good indeed. The service was also good, welcoming. It may be that the property is undergoing a room by room renovation and that our room was still to be worked on, but it seemed a little tired to us, a few areas of paint needing touching up, some wallpaper beginning to peel. We also noticed one or two carpet stains, tea cup stains and a little mould on the shower screen in the bathroom - see the photos. Nothing that's a show stopper, just not of the highest standard.

The Chef must be very talented. We enjoyed a beautifully presented and delicious dinner and breakfast. Staff is very accommodating and rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. View of hills in the lovely Lake District, close to shops and convenient for walks.

I wish we had booked more than one night here, it was a lovely treat for my husband's birthday. All the staff were excellent. the food was lovely. A brilliant choice at breakfast. Room 15 is a little hot, so I would request a different froom next time, although it is a lovely big comfortable room in every other way. We will definitely go back!
