Welcome to our warm and friendly home in the Lake District. The Old Rectory Guest House and bed & breakfast in Coniston is the perfect place to stay to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the surrounding Coniston Fells and the Lake District National Park. Our house, built in 1868 for the Reverend Thomas Ellwood, nestles in three acres of gardens and woodland in the midst of rolling Cumbrian farmland. Above us sit the majestic peaks of Coniston Old Man whilst below us we benefit from the beautiful and tranquil shores of Coniston Water.

We source local ingredients wherever possible and use local suppliers - Melville Tyson an old established family butcher and grocer in Broughton-in Furness and Hutchinsons -another old established family butcher and grocer in Coniston.
