We had a wonderful two nights stay at the Rowan Tree hotel Aviemore, situated a few miles south of Aviemore where it was quiet and peaceful. Hosts Jon and Tam were very welcoming and informative of all the local attractions. The in-house meals were excellent with five-star quality. There was a large lounge where one could relax or play board games. Breakfast was typical, full Scottish. In the evening there was a small cosy bar with a large selection of local whisky as well as ample non-alcoholic choices. All over a great place to get away from it all and relax.

Just finished an evening meal, and felt like we had to write a review. The adult menu was nicely varied and the food was beautifully prepared. The children's menu was full of homemade classic meals, and the kids happily tucked in. But it was the service that really stood out - really friendly and super efficient. Overall it was easily the best food we have eaten around Aviemore, and we are definitely booking again when we are next in the area.

We didn't stay here but we all had a lovely three course meal in the restaurant. There were three of us and we all had a different main course. Before our meal we treated to some homemade tomato blush bread and oil. The soup was really good, as was the main and the sweet was absolutely delicious. It had chocolate and cherries in it (two foods I really enjoy). The staff were all very friendly. It was just a such a nice relaxed evening. Would certainly recommend.
