We were given a voucher for a lunch for 2 as a gift. Making our reservation was straight forward and the receptionist very accommodating. She asked for our voucher code to be put against the reservation. On arrival we were seated in the very nice conservatory. My wife is a vegetarian and we were very pleasantly surprised by the good selection of Vegan options. After a reasonable wait our server asked us if we were ready to order, but we had not been offered a drinks order, which should be the protocol.
Anyway we placed our order and in due course our starters were served and later the main courses. Then things seemed to go down hill. After our main course was cleared, we waited for at least 45 minutes for the offer of desert or coffee, but this never happened. We therefore requested the bill and to our surprise, on it's arrival, the voucher had been ignored. This wasn't a problem when we noted it and the server said they would get it sorted. Another long wait and we were told it would be ok. So in summary, nice venue, helpful receptionist, good menu, nice food, poor service.

The best hotel I've stayed in and would definitely recommend to others. Food options are varied, well presented and delicious. We had a room with a sea view which made our stay even more special.

The service here (from main restaurant staff and cleaners) is excellent. A huge shout out to Andrea the waiter who went above and beyond to make our stay with our little dog Gizmo a 5 star experience - thank you Andrea!. The hotel is traditionally but beautifully done, the pool was clean and pleasant, the views beautiful and the location great (near beach, town and short drive from countryside). If it wasn't for Andrea I would say that this hotel is not completely dog friendly - we weren't able to sit in the restaurants and reception recommended we eat in a local pub that doesn't accept dogs.
I do think they need to provide an area in the conservatory, if not the restaurant, for dog owners - after all dog owners pay more to stay here. Andrea did his best to compensate for this though. Hats off to him!

A wonderful place with a wonderful history. It still reeks of Victorian grandeur; we even watched a game of croquet on the lawn while sipping gin and tonics. We will definitely go back.

Went here for a wedding and thought it was a super venue. Our room was great and had a sea view though others had a different opinion. Service was good. Reception staff were brilliant and super helpful.

Lovely hotel with stunning views. Just took a late lunch there People were drifting in for afternoon tea in the conservatory restaurant. Afraid to say the food was somewhat indifferent. Attentive service and a relaxing lounge area.
