We're lucky to have a fairly comprehensive record of the White Hart's history from the past couple of hundred years. Below is a list of every owner known since the pub became the White Hart, 170 years ago. He was the first to give the hotel the White Hart name and he held the licence for 6 years. He held the licence for 5 years and the 1851 census shows he lived here with his wife and two sons. All court licence records have been lost and all surviving duplicate licences for these periods have been checked.

We are located in a quiet street close to Dumfries town centre, the River Nith and a wide range of historical, leisure and outdoor activities that are on offer in Dumfries and Galloway. Dumfries Ice Bowl is a few minutes walk from the hotel and comprises a dedicated Ice Hockey / Ice Skating Rink as well as a dedicated Curling Rink.

We offer good quality accommodation at reasonable prices with single, twin and double bedrooms available on either room-only or bed and breakfast basis. Bedrooms are all en-suite with toilet, shower and wash-hand-basin. Since the Whitehart is a pub with rooms we are unable to accommodate families with children.
